Equation 1a shows how 1/FDX depends on the growth rate p and the two parameters F^X and mD. Completely similar equations can be derived for growth yields on acceptor (A), carbon dioxide (C), heat (Q), and Gibbs energy (G) according to equation 1b:

Here i can be A, C, Q, or G. The maintenance coefficients for the different compounds are related to mD according to Example 3b. The maximal yields FAX, FCX, FQX and F£"X are related to F^X, and can be found by solving the mac-rochemical equation, using the available FJ5X value, according to Example 1.
