Feedforward Control

Feedforward control adjusts the manipulative variable as soon as a load disturbance is detected in an attempt to cancel its effect on the controlled variable. Sampled-data feedforward algorithms are designed readily from knowledge of the dynamics of the process?1 Feedforward control is best employed in conjunction with feedback control to correct for any offset due to inaccuracies in the process model.
